we can easily encounter patients who have TMJ problems! we have to look into tmj health which means stable CR! We are not sure why women are vulnerable to TMJ problems. I guess it related to hormones like estrogen. If we start treatment when TMJ is about to resorb. It gonna be huge problems. so first of all we have to check patients have stable tmj or not 🙁
I don’t agree opinions that patients’s got to wear splint always before orthodontic tx except patients have muscles related problems! Just thoroughly check patient’s tmj with cbct images or MRI! wait and see! it is really stop to resorb
